Nuggets, T-Wolves square off at Pepsi Center

Basketball Betting Lines

11/16/2008 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Denver Nuggets will welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves to town this evening for a showdown at the Pepsi Center.

The Nuggets have won four of their last five games, including Friday's 94-85 victory over the defending champion Boston Celtics at TD Banknorth Garden.

Carmelo Anthony finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds for Denver, which wrapped up a three-game swing with a 2-1 record. Chauncey Billups also had 18 points and added seven assists while Kenyon Martin had 16 points in the win.

Denver is 2-1 at home and will also host the Milwaukee Bucks on its brief two- game homestand.

Minnesota, meanwhile, has dropped seven straight since its season-opening win over Sacramento, and suffered an 88-83 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday at the Target Center.

Al Jefferson scored a game-high 26 points while Mike Miller and Randy Foye contributed 10 points apiece. Rookie Kevin Love added eight points for the Timberwolves, who will try for their first road win (0-4) tonight.

The Nuggets won all four meetings with Minnesota last year and are unbeaten in the past five matchups.

Minnesota has lost three in a row at Denver.

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds

Will he or won't he?  Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.

Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.

"I've said that he's back, he's here, he's under contract," Jones said. "In the interviews I've just been through (to hire a new coach), it was very clear to me how highly he's thought of and how much of an impact he had on our offensive success."

Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.

Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.

But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.

Aside from the questions surrounding Terrell Owens, the oddsmakers at MySportsbook.com have concerns over starting quarterback Tony Romo's state of mind and whether he will remain a starting quarterback.  It is also not known how players will adjust to new head coach, Wade Phillips.

Chiefs' Treen Green out for Sunday's game

How long Trent Green will remain sidelined is unknown. Coach Herm Edwards said Monday he will miss a second straight start Sunday when the Chiefs host the San Francisco 49ers.

A two-time Pro Bowler, Green was going into a feet-first hook slide when he was knocked unconscious by a thunderous, head-snapping hit from Cincinnati's Robert Geathers.

Oddsmakers at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com currently have the Chiefs listed as 7-point favorites versus the 49ers.

The 49ers got beat by Philadelphia 38-24 as a 6.5-point underdog last week. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (42.5).

Alex Smith completed 27-of-46 passes for 293 yards with a touchdown. Michael Robinson rushed for 29 yards and a pair of touchdowns on five carries.

The Chiefs lost 9-6 to Denver last week as an 11-point underdog. The combined score was well UNDER the posted over/under total (38).

Larry Johnson
rushed for 126 yards on 27 carries. Damon Huard completed 17-of-23 passes for 133 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
